I am inspired to create my own TCG or trading card game. I want my TCG to be some sort of roleplay where there are no winning just an ending and the story/lore that the player decided to create. kind of like Dungeons and Dragons.
Research and inspiration:
My main inspiration is the current red tagging and abduction of protesters in the Philippines just because they call out the government. Some of the events and cards in this game are based on real historical events in the Philippines

Mechanics:
There are three things that the player must keep watch of in order to "win" the game
The Charisma
The Power
And The economy
Certain cards and events will influence these meters and some players depending on their playstyle would disregard one or more meters.
At the very start of the game each player get 4-6 draw cards. And only in the start they could void the cards they don't want or can't use and redraw it to get another set of cards
Players could trade or give cards with each other
Players could be chose to ally with each other and/or betray them in later rounds
There are 16 rounds in the whole game and the winner will be the player who is in the "lead"
If all player lay down a card, then everyone will recieve 1 card at the end of the round.
A player could end their turn by either playing 1 card or drawing 1 card
Dice will be used for chance events
Type of cards
certain cards have good and bad type that only certain types of players could use
Player cards
- Each player card is unique and has different buffs and debuffs
- Lead is the player that is leading by 2 meters
- if two or more player is on the lead then they will roll a die. Who ever got the lowest score will have -1 deducted to all their meters
Event cards
- Some of these cards have special effects such as allowing twice the use of cards, doubling meter effects
- Some events last for more than one turn
Draw cards
- These are the main playing cards that affect the meters and affect the players
- Good cards add +1 to the reputation
- Bad cards remove -1 to the reputation
Reputation
- reputation only adds to the story and is not as important to the gameplay like other meters
Type of player
Everyone starts off as a neutral player. However, some cards either add a positive or a negative reputation to the player. Some events are also advantageous or disadvantageous to certain types. A player could redeem themself or go the opposite way
Player card
Pink maiden
- using this as your player card will double the economy scaling however you start with -5 power and -10 charisma.
- You could also only use good cards
- negative charisma affects you more(2x)
- the revolution event doubles your power scaling
Red tyrant
- using this as your player card will double the power and charisma scaling. However, you start with -25 economy
- you can only use bad cards
- negative economic affect you more
- Revolution has a chance to make your power and charisma -35 each turn(if a die roll a 6)
- Martial law will increase your charisma and power 3x
Yellow Lady
- your economy scaling is 0.5x
- your power scaling is 1.5x
- The death of the yellow man(draw) card will trigger the revolution event when someone is using
Tyrant's first lady
- Economy scaling is 1.5x
- power scaling is 0.5x
- Martial law will increase all meters by 3x
- Revolution has a chance to make your power and charisma -35 each turn
Propagandist President
- Economy scaling is 0.5x
- Power scaling is 2x
- Charisma scaling is 3x
- 4x more vulnerable to the journalist card
- Revolution has a chance to make your power and charisma -35 each turn
- you can only use bad cards
Revolutionary President
-Charisma scaling is 2x
-Power scaling is 2x
-Can only use good cards
-If charisma drops below 0 the charisma and power scaling will both drop to 0.5x
-Able to start a revolution once 75 charisma and 70 power but will deplete it back to 5
Iron lady
-Charisma scaling is 1.5x
-Economy scaling is 1.5x
-Immune to Online trolls
Draw cards
Journalist(good)
- using this card will boost your own, or other's charisma and power by 5
- if used against a bad player(someone with -rep) it will remove 5 power and charisma
Propagandist(bad)
- Using this card will boost your own or other's charisma and power by 5
- could be used against anyone to remove 5 power and charisma
Online trolls(bad)
-Using this card will damage other's charisma by 8
Public eye(good)
-Using this card will damage other's charisma by 8
Celebrity campaign
-Using this card will boost your own charisma by 10
Recession
-Using this card will damage other's economy by 10
Targeted propaganda
-Using this card will damage other's power and charisma by 8
Good governance(good)
-Using this card will boost your own economy by 10
Nepotism(bad)
-Using this card will boost your own power and charisma by 10 but affect your economy by -10
Drug trafficking(bad)
-Using this card will boost your own economy by 10
External allies
-Using these cards will boost your own power and economy by 15
-This card could also be used for countering targeted draw cards
SONA
-Using this cards boost all 3 meters by 5
Debt pardon
-This can be used towards you or other players
-Can only be use if the target's economy is in the negative
-Using this card will reset the negative economy back to 0
Fake news(bad)
-add or damage your own or other's charisma by 5
Embezzlement (bad)
-Add 8 to your economy while removing 2 economies to other players
Prisoners of war
-Add 8 power to users
News media (good)
-add or damage your own or other's charisma by 5
Accountability(good)
- if us11d against a negative reputation player it will deduct -3 to all their power and charisma and add +2 towards the summoner's power and charisma
- Can only be used towards negative rep player
External allies
-add 4 power to users
Death of the yellow man (rare)
-damage your charisma by 2 but add power by 5
Event cards (last 3 turns unless stated otherwise)(doesnt end turrn when summoned)(one event can only exists over time and an event overrides other events)
Revolution
- makes the summoner's power and charisma scaling 3x
- the person in the lead is 2x more vulnerable to draw cards effects
Eye of the public
-this card will make your or someone's power, charisma, and economy scale 3x and also be more vulnerable by 3x
Martial law(bad)
-This will make your own or someone's power scaling by 3.5x
People's power(good)
-This will make your own or someone's power scaling by 3.5x
-can only be used for postive rep player
External intervention
-If summon by a good player, the bad players scaling will be lowered to 0.5x vice versa.
Documentation
I noticed that keeping scores is a bit hard especially with multiplayer and such so developing an application to keep scores could be useful. Or a white board for offline gameplay
I noticed that iron lady has unbalanced buff
It is hard to keep which round is it is a bit hard and what event is on going
Im gonna add a white board that keep tally of all the meters, round, and events
The score keeping is a bit confusing but the scores will be added independently.
